Can i Refinishing Drum Shells? - drum shells

Id like to refinish my new cartridge cases (the old but new to me).
They are light blue and a little ugly. But then come here and there, and it looks like shit. Can I strip the finish line? Is it like a big sticker that can be hoodwinked?
I do not want to damage anything, but the idea was to peel or break the sand and then the black color.
Good or bad idea?
